As One is part of my collection called “Language of Flowers”

It is a love song to my amazing wife & muse YuMee Chung. I am releasing it to coincide with her Birthday & Valentines day.

This song came about very organically, I was inspired by the first line of Pixinguinha’s “Carinhoso”, 3 descending notes, expressing the heart. The number 3 is woven all through the piece. There is a triplet pattern across 2 beats, and a section in 3/4 time. There are 3 rhythm section instruments, with 2 winds and 4 strings. There are 3 verses.

Even though it is quite full, I tried to maintain simplicity in the lyrics and melody, to impart the feeling of giving over into new love, eternal spring, harmony, peace, and joy.

I am sincerely grateful to the amazing players who helped me to record this tune. Thanks friends!
